    • Smitty’s Mulch is NOT BAGGED and is Sold in Bulk by Cubic Yard 
    • A truck with an Open Bed or a Trailer is Required for Pickup
    • Our professionals load fast and efficiently

How Much Mulch Do you Need?

If you know the square feet or how many bags you typically use, please use this as a reference when deciding how much mulch to use:


  • 150 Square feet of mulch laid down at 2 inches thickness equals approximately 1 Cubic Yard of Mulch
  • 14 Bags of mulch equals approximately 1 Cubic Yard of Mulch


If you are unsure about how to calculate the square footage, please use our calculator to convert your area to cubic yards. Measure the length by the width of the space you are looking to mulch and enter those dimensions into our calculator along with the desired thickness of the mulch. Click submit. The CUBIC YARDS number is the amount that you will need.
